Your First Visit
What To Expect
Your initial visit is an important step in your process. You will provide information about YOU – your life story, health concerns, wellness goals, and past experiences -- that reflect where your health and wellness is at today versus where you would like it to be.
Dr. Shelly will thoroughly assess your neuro-spinal system for balance and function, as well as your posture and range of motion. How your body is in its natural posture and how it moves can indicate what needs attention, awareness, and lifestyle changes.
Please allow anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour of your time for this first reservation so we have adequate time for all of your health needs, wants, and desires to be heard fully.
Why We Are Different
In our office, you are not a patient; you are not a diagnosis; you are not a number. You are a practice member -- meaning you are a member of our community. You are part of our family, and the care you receive will be the same care that we would want to give our family. We will go out of our way to finding the answers you need regarding your health, and if we can't serve you, we will find someone who can.
Same Day Adjustment
On that same day, you will receive a gentle specific chiropractic adjustment tailored specifically to your body’s needs.
Prior to leaving, you will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This will include home exercises, postural changes, lifestyle modifications, nutritional recommendations, at-home remedies and/or stretches. What you do in between your chiropractic adjustments is just as important as your adjustments. The adjustment doesn’t heal you, YOU heal you!
How Will You Feel After Your First Visit?
You should leave our studio feeling years younger, with more energy and healthier than when you entered!
Our goal is assist your body to heal itself faster, to get you off any medications that you may be taking, to prevent you from having un-necessary surgery and to get you back to doing what you want to do!
Don't be surprised if your body may feel sore, as though you had a good workout. If you have had bad posture for years, good posture is hard to maintain because it requires you to use muscles that have become weak. An adjustment is similar -- it aligns your body and your body may not have been in its proper position for years. Therefore, it feels different (sore, tired, hard to maintain, etc.)
How Soon Will You Need To Return?
You will need to return within 2-3 days for your second adjustment. Chiropractic is not a quick fix; it is a lifestyle, just like eating healthy and exercising. If you go to the gym once and expect results, you will be disappointed. Chiropractic care is ongoing as we have to re-train your muscles and ligaments to hold your spine and posture in the proper alignment.
After your initial set of frequent visits to eliminate your pain or symptoms, it is highly recommended to follow a maintenance plan of 1-2 monthly adjustments to keep your body functioning at 100%. Otherwise, over time, it can relapse back to where you started on your first visit.
How you decide to use chiropractic care in your life is always up to you. If you are ready to make the commitment to yourself, your life, your health, and your well-being, you are in the right place. Discuss which package of care is right for you at your next appointment.
